Pine Sap Fluxes – Field Stations and Marine Laboratories (FSML) grant

Research as part of a larger FSML and Institute for the Study of the Ecological and Evolutionary Climate Impacts grant is being integrated carried out at a satellite site of with SEGA. A grant obtained by Elliot Campbell (UCSC) and Todd Dawson (UCB) is looking at fog at NRS sites in coastal ecosystem redwood ecosystem, and changes in fog on ecosystem health. SEGA’s Hart Prairie site is being used as an extension of the a UC-wide Climate Change Observatory (UC Natural Reserve Field Stations) and sap flux sensors have been installed there to help support an NSF Macrosystems award to study the effect of climate change and disease impact on Southwestern white pines.
